My name is Kami Peck. I am the Owner & CEO of Rodeo Coffee Roasters, LLC. My passion for all things western began at the age of 1 yrs old, when shopping with my parents, and we passed a pair of white cowboy boots. The rest they say is history, and I was forever known as Boots by my family. My love affair with the west had begun.
I started working for Stages West in East TN the day I turned 18. I worked at a horse stable as a trail guide & worked my way on to the PRCA Sanctioned Rodeo in the area doing marketing/office management. It was there that I witnessed a young man break his neck right out of the chute gate. It had a profound affect on me. I sat at the hospital waiting on the outcome. He came out of surgery in a halo & it became all too real the risks associated with rodeo.
Years went by, and I found myself the sudden victim of a 95 lb sheep dog attacking me. I sustained a broken shoulder, broken elbow, broken hip, and severely injured knee all on my left side. I had to have emergency surgery, and I had three pins placed in my hip. I spent ten weeks unable to get out of bed while my bones healed & then I began the long 16 month journey of learning how to walk again. I tell you this because fortunately, I had insurance. The hospital bill alone was over $52,000. As I lay in bed recuperating, my orthopedic surgeon told me that I needed to focus on my passions to get me through the ordeal. Having previously owned a coffee company, I decided to combine my passions for Rodeo & Coffee. Slowly the concept took shape & Rodeo Coffee Roasters, LLC was born. One of the things that was most important to me & at the top of my list was giving back to the rodeo community I love so deeply. I immediately decided that for every single purchase on my website $1.00 will be going to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund to provide need-based financial assistance to athletes injured through their participation in professional rodeo.
I hope you come along on the ride with me. Thank you for being here and allowing me to share my story with you all.
God Bless You,
Kami Peck
